A friend just bought a 05 2wd auto HO and wanted to know if this will be an ok mod: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7979699993&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:1

My only worry was EGT & torque converter slippage. He wont mess with the wastegate plumbing (warranty isssues). Can we simply clamp the wastegate like like the 2nd gens?

What about the transmission?

He tows light (and always will), a cabover and a single axle fiberglass boat.

Any opinions appreciated.

I personally would go with EDGE or Quadzilla for that truck

Whats his goal? The JUICE with Attitude is nice because obviously you save having to buy the gauges AND a module... . (same with TST powermaxcr)

And leave the wastegate alone, no clamping. . overboosting will only heat intake air and make hot boost

No matter what chip he buys, Make his get an EGT gauge (if not already in the chip) - these 3rd gens can run hot even stock, much less pumped up

My dad is running his ez on the highest setting and has had egts of 1000-1100 pulling a 2700 boat up here in utah on some 5% grades,

I have the Juice Attitude, had it on setting 2 (40hp) and towed a truck from MT to AK about 7000 lbs or so. Ran 65-75 the whole way, crusing on the flat it rarely got to 1000 and on one steep hill, had to be 10% plus I hit the 1250 backdown. I felt on the whole trip it actually ran cooler than I thought it would. I love the Juice it has worked flawlessly... ... ... ... ... . so far

Just my . 02

Just got my 180 hot juice installed. . Kinda disappointed. . After install, i got in the truck and went to adjust the attitude while it was running, and it died. . Wiggled the attitude... Screen came back on, and truck started. . There's a short in the attitude box where the wire goes in. . Truck can be running fine, then I touch the display, the display goes blank, and the truck dies. .

Power... Low setting is hardly noticeable. .

Setting two and three are smooth power. .

Setting four (100 or 120 hp) is as much as the transmission wants. . Power is great, though the transmission doesn't like to be launched at this level. . The transmission seems to slip a little trying to do a boosted launch. .

Level five... Well, the transmission started shuddering when I accelerated from a stand still. . This was not a boosted launch. . This was just rolling into full throttle. . The truck started to vibrate and the rpm's went to 3000 and the truck didn't accelerate in proportion to the tach. . It actually was quicker from a launch in level four. . Level five was more than my stock transmission could take. . By the way, I have a whopping 600 miles on the truck. .

As a whole, nothing went as I had hoped. . I will have to send the attitude back for a new one, and my transmission couldn't withstand even the first launch on the high setting. . I don't know wether I should back off power, or modify the transmission. . A smart person would leave a nice 65 or 100 hp tune on it and spend the money on the truck designated to race, though I'm not always the smart one. . We'll see...

Get the transmission done. The 48RE will only handle about 80 to 100 HP. 180HP will be the death of your transmission in a hurry! :{ You can see by my signature who I prefer for Auto trannys. But others are out there.

Based upon your 95 ram, I bet you modify the transmission :D

bombs away... .

I don't know. . I may just keep the power down on the new truck and see what kind of mileage I can get out of it. . Hard decision...
