Anyone running an Edge A2 on their 3rd Gen yet? I was checking it out on the Edge website. Would be nice to have an all in one unit. At this point I'm interested in monitor only. Not quite ready to become my own warranty station.

You can get them for 1450. 00 on ebay. But can you get just the A2 controller seperately and if so does anyone know how much?

I just called Edge and the A2 comes only as a controller and the price should be around $1200. 00. I asked him about some being on EBAY with the Juice added for about $1450. 00 and he said he doesn't know how they can afford to do that. So in all the package could be close to $2100. 00.

I don't think I can post pricing here. Milehigh. o. , your pricing for the A2 is correct. The total for a Juice/A2 for a 3rd Gen Dodge would be about $225 cheaper than you mentioned for the package price though. ;)

I didn't think you could run just the monitor only? Also looks like nothing for the 06's yet?

I have had the A2 installed for a couple weeks and love it! I am new to the site and in the process of adding pictures to my readers rig gallery. Definitely something that helps make your truck stand out. :D

I was dead set on getting the A2 and price was not a option to get it. I went to a local retailer and asked to check it out. They pulled one out of the box and I had it in my hand. Its friggin HUGE. I wanted to see how it mounted and how much bigger it was than the attitude. Well after seeing the crappy windsheild bracket and no way to mount on pillar like the attitude I oppted to buy the attitude.

Yes it has a ton of awesome feature but like I said I was dead set on buying it till I seen how HUGE it was. There is no way the suction cup bracket is going to hold it to the window. It is the size of a red brick... Honest.

Actually, the suction cup deal works better than you might think. We never had ours fall off in the 3-4 months we had it to tinker with.

I assume it's bigger than an Attitude display and smaller than a ... ..... breadbox? How big is it actually?

I'm guessing it's a good size touch screen maybe with a screen diagonal of 4".

I'd say it's about 6 inches wide, 4 inches tall, and 2 or 3 inches deep. I think they're pretty slick. I like having everything in one unit. NNelson has one... I've driven his truck and it's real nice. It is kinda in the way of your view being so big, but I didn't think it was that big of a deal. NNelson has his mounted on the bottom left corner of his windshield/dash.

Since it requires a power upgrade to install the A2 I suppose I'll hold for a bit. I think it might work great if attached to the dash on a swivel arm. This would be easy access by the driver or allow the passenger to program the GPS while going down the road. I'm also concerned about putting any electronic device in plain view on the dash for crimes of convenience.

A2 Photo's

Check out my reader's Rig photos for a few shots of my A2 monitor installed. The window mount is very solid and has not moved at all. The current location of the monitor is only temporary as I am having a local Car audio shop look into rebuilding my dash area where my stereo is located. Hopefully I will have it in-set into my dash for a nice custom look. :-laf

RFlow,

What are the dimensions of the A2? It looks bigger than I pictured. Doesn't that mounting position block your view over the hood?

Screen actual width using a tape measure 3" wide by 2 1/4" tall. Total size is 6" wide by 4" tall on button side, 3" on other side. It's depth is approximately 2 1/2" button side, and 1 1/4" on other side. It was hard to measure beings it has unusual dimensions. All these measurements could be off by a small amount. (Stomp from first Gen forum took them for me, he has a hard time with the tape :D )

As far as visibility, at first it was awkward but I quickly got used to it and actually like where it is located. My biggest concern is that it is very visible from outside the truck and I am worried someone may try to help themselves to it... .
