Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Edge Attitude Guage system Reliable

This forum is great on these rainy NW days! Anybody have and Edge Juice W/ attitude who is getting reliable and accurate readings for fuel pressure, transmission temp, and all the other vitals the attitude is supposed to read? Are regular guages more reliable? Want the edge but wanted to hear from people who have one.

I've been running the Juice for a little over a year now, i like the gauge set-up because you get to choose what views you want(location of readout and gauge choice)I ran an e-z with pillar gauges before, and like this better. Randy

Are you getting the same readings on the edge as you got on the analogue guages? Sounds like you trust the Edge readings. How do you like the Edge Juice? I have a 99' 4wd Auto and would love to get the edge with attitude but I'm a little worried I might do some damage to my transmission. The most I ever tow is about 8-10K for short distances. Otherwise I tow my tent trailer that weighs about 4K. Has the edge helped with MPG?

I've tried both and they both read pretty accurate, just dependent on what u prefer in my opinion, IMO i prefer digital but thats just me, and MPG as far as im concerned is anywhere from 15-22 dependent on what im doing lol

I'm like Evan as I would like the Edge , but am concerned about the auto. I caryy a Lance camper and tow a 20' enclosed car trailer with a Jeep and hunting gear inside. Everything totals close to 20,000 lbs.

Thus, with a headwind the transmission often shifts out of overdrive. Same with going over overpasses. Worst is the long grade out of Salt LakeCity. There I go in low gear for that 15 mile hill.

So I'd like more power but don't want to sacrifice reliability.

Any others with the Edge system?

I have gauges and the attitude and they are both pretty close the attitude seems to react faster, and i like all the other bells and whitsles with the attitude.

I checked today if it was possible to get the attitude only as I'm not sure if I want the chip---NOPE.

If you want a standalone digital monitor check out the Quadzilla Commander or the Quadzill Recon XZT (or what ever that thing is called). Both offer digital gauges only. The commander can also control many of the add on boxes (for more power). The Recon appears to be just a gauge, it displays one reading at a time and has some cool features.

I asked Edge a long time ago to make just a digital gauge out of a attitude and they said no.....

I was seeing a substantion difference in fuel pressure with mine, and sometimes it would bounce around compared with my guages. But everything else seemed good. I really like the alarm setpoints you can put in, and the fuel pressure alarm has saved me at least onece. If I hadnt noticed it and destroyed my VP that alone would make it all worth it.

For you guys that are worried about your trany..... You are right. I had to upgrade my clutch shortly after going to the Juice. This thing makes so much torque that i was blowing the stock clutch away at 50 mph with no trailer. Not blaming the Juice, it is just so much fun that you can't resist it. RandyOo. Oo.

All I really wanted were the gauges, but with their high prices I went ahead and got the whole thing. I'll probably leave it on level 1 to be on the cautious side.

Hopefully the wife doesn't play with it by raising the level!

Lastly, the installer couldn't get a readout for boost and will call the factory tomorrow. All in all, the truck seems to be more pleasant to drive. Maybe it's my imagination but the transmission appears to be behaving better.

My attitude seems to read about right for my past experience with 24 v trucks. However, my EGT thermocouple started to act up on a trip to alaska and would hang at around 460 degrees even after idling for several minutes. tapped on it with a wrench and fixed for awile. Bad part was that at high egt's the reading would sometimes drop suddenly from 1100+ deg down to 700 when I knew temps were real high (i. e. , would not back down module if EGT over max). Edge replaced thermocouple freee of charge but sounds like they are known to be faulty on occassion

I tow a lot with my truck and bought the Edge for that reason. When I'm not towing its nice to have that extra power to play around with, and while towing level one and two are sweet power. My fuel mileage also came up with it about 2-3 miles per gallon. I love the adjustability of the display and the warnings. Usually I pay no attention to my EGT's, my alarm is set at

1300* and defuels at 1350*. Best bang for the buck for power and gauges IMO.
