Wow! I got it all installed minus the EGT probe last night. Wondering if some of these readings are normal... .

transmission Highway - 130ish

transmission City - 140ish

transmission on level 5 Hard driving - 165ish

Boost on level 5 - Struggle to hit 20psi... .

The boost seems like it is might bit low... Normal?

Next question, my safety alerts, What should be safe setting for them? The cool down timer, set for egt or time and how long or what temp?

I'd like to hear yalls reccomendations.

It is definitly worth every penny I spent!

cooling down EGT's- a lot of people like 300 degrees,as do I.

transmission seems good, A DD pan wouldnt hurt for more fluid

Alert limits i guess it would all depend on what your doing with the truck.

But dont forget aluminum melts at about 1450 degrees :-laf (i believe)

I bumed mine to 350 to keep it from running so long, I have heard anything under 400 but above 250 is good

I think you have a boost leak..... My truck stock would hit 30 lbs. The cooldown temp should be set at 300. The egts shouldn't see over 1250 for long periods of time if you want the engine to last. Get that probe installed soon so you don't risk a meltdown. Good luck.

no boost elbow on the 2001 auto trucks! How would I go about looking for a boost leak? Or should I get on of those J hooks since I cant use the elbow?

I got the EGT probe installed last night with out issues. going down the highway normally I hold anywhere from 500 to 700*... . on 5 I hit 1150 once and that was pullin hard... .

You can adjust the waste gate to get more boost. I've seen guys crimp the line from wastegate some or drill a hole in the elbow. The j hook would help, but I think you should check for a boost leak. I made a homemade leak detecter out of a 3" rubber fernco, sewer pipe cleanout cap that I drilled a hole in the end & screwed in a air fitting... . Then just put the cap in the end of the rubber fernco & clamp it down. install it over the turbo air inlet & apply 5-7lbs air pressure. Its a little hillbilly, but it works great.

Yes that is pre-turbo. I like the hillbilly boost leak tester! but I'll wait on that... The lines and traffic will suck today I'm sure! Are there any common places I can get a boost leak and physically check?

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? If so what was the reading.

Yes I do, Wide open it pulls down to 8psi... I was playing with more and it stumbles most of the time when getting on it from say a light... if I'm running down the highway at 60 and hit level 5, it runs alot better, but you still know the stumble is there... .

Thanks Guys!

Most common is the intercooler boots/hoses. The one that usually comes loose is on passenger side near turbo. The two on the intercooler are common to get busted or rubbed through because they are near to different brackets etc. The intake cover is the next place to look... . usually the front most bolts will come loose.
