I,m looking to make 450hp with the Quickest spool possible, with a single turbo. I talked to RIP at source auto and he recommended the high -tech 62/12. i've spent alot of time reading about turbos and this an extremely hard decision for me! From what i read about the edge ball bearing turbo it sounds very appealing to me. is anyone out there running an edge BB. What are some thoughts on this? I don't do any towing with it, it's just my daily driver HODROD

A 12 housing on a 62mm wheel? That thing will LIGHT right off! I'd listen to Rip, those S-300 hybrids bring nothing but praise. Quick, durable, and durn near custom tailored to whatever the build is. You sound like you know what you want to build. That's pretty much a hotrod turbo. Dual wastegate ports and all that. Nice.

Htb2 62/12 is a awesome turbo & will light off really fast..... I'd get it before any other. I had one & loved it, but I like the super stock 62 even more... . It cooled my egts down 200* from the htb2 62/12. Either one would work great for your application.

Good advice from Rip.

I blew up my second Edge BB and replaced it with the HTT 62/12 at Rip's insistence :p (my bombs are in my profile)

The HTT spools faster and has considerably more kick on top. At wot 100 mph with comp on 3 I just touch 1300, which is ~150 less than the BB. Off boost smoke is greyish when I hammer it, and clears up immediately. I'm at sea level.

timbo: The Edge is non-wastegated.

DONT GET AN EDGE BB!!!!! i made that mistake and although i could go on and on about how much i hated it, i would rather go on and on about how much i love love love my SPS 62!!
