Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Edge Comp issues?

I recently installed my Edge Comp with pump wire connected and ran out of fuel in my driveway. My fuel guage registered an 1/8th tank and the trip computer stated I had 44 miles to empty. I heard the fueling boxes cause inaccurate readings on the trip computers, but would it affect my gas guage? That FASS unit took forever to prime again!

Pure coincidence. Don't sweat it, you lost the fuel sender module. That module seems to be short lived.

Point #1:



Fuel guage and overhead computer are consistently proven to be only GENERAL indications of reality, especially where fuel is concerned.



#2, the Comp would not create any significant deviation as to fuel readout - I think most of us drive by the fuel guage rather than the computer - and even THEN, faulty fuel tank sending units sometimes cause problems...



Best advice, never drive below about 1/4 tank indicated on the fuel guage!

Low fuel means less cooling for your VP44.

Except I was gettin the best mileage ever. My sending unit went bad and I was stuck on half a tank. after a while It kicked in... . DUH... . It was a simple fix though. Enjoy the comp!
