Sorry for all the ignorant questions-- you guys help so much!

I have been telling myself that THe Edge EZ is what I am looking for with the big injectors. Now I am looking more at the Edge Comp.

What is the Comp like if I don't connect the pump wire? Is it basically just like the EZ? Would I have the boost fooler function intact?

I want to buy only ONE box, but I am not yet ready to tap the pump. I am almost there. . but I want to see what kind of reliability I have on this VP-44 and it's feeder system. I only have 1500 miles on my truck, so it's too early to know if I have a bum setup.

BTW-- Fuel Press gauge goes in when I get home from Oman!! (15 Dec)

Try the EZ

Try the EZ first. The shop I bought mine at said to try it for a month and if I was not happy they would upgrade to the comp and only make me pay the difference. :D That way you only buy one box and if your not happy with the EZ you can upgrade to a comp without getting stuck with an extra box to sell. I would think most shops would be willing to do this. I was happy with the performance of the EZ and unwilling to tap the pump wire yet:rolleyes: this is a cost effective way to try them out.

I agree with Hoss.

One thing to note. It seems that the ETH likes Injectors better than Major fueling boxes that tap the pump wire.

A timing box and a set of injectors on an ETH ROCKS!

What he said!

Diesel Freak is right, my next BOMBS are DD2's and a four inch exhaust. I love my EZ but I rode in a buddies truck with an EZ and DD3's WOOOOOOOOHOOOOO:D but I do not need the smoke so I'll stick with DD2's (yeh right) Seriously I would go with an EZ and injectors before I would pierce the wire.

Injectors and and EZ will give all the power a SANE person will likely need!;) :D

THAT said, injectors and the Comp will give you a HUGE amount of operator control right from the driver's seat that the EZ will NOT! I use my truck a high percentage of time towing an RV - but empty on grocery runs, my "needs" from the Comp are totally different than when towing - and the settings on the Comp are right there at my fingertips! That can be especially valuable if your wife or others drive your truck occasionally... ;)

If you even SUSPECT you might eventually want a COMP, why bother with buying and installing *2* boxes? Simply buy and install the Comp - leave the pump wire off initially - and when yer ready to graduate to full power, simply connect the pump wire - that's what I did with mine...

BTW... my last Publicly Verifiable dyno run at Spokane Washington during Diesel Thunder I put down 370 RWHP! This is with the Puck (does the same thing as an EZ or VA) and DD3's

another ETH with a COMP and DD2's made 365 RWHP

The Highest HP numbers I have seen with an ETH/DD2's/COMP were 383 HP.

It seems to me that Running a Wire Tap box on an ETH really is not worth it.

Vaughn MacKenzie cranked out just over 350 HP with his ETH/DD2, VA combo

Evan Beck Cranked out 391 HP with his ETH/Black DD3, EZ combo at Diesel Dymnamics with the stock turbo.

A timing box and a set of Injectors on an ETH is the way to go!:D :D  Oo.
