I have a relatively new Edge Comp box and it seems like there is not that much of a difference between 2x2 and 5x5. Sure, 5x5 comes on a little harder and seems faster on top, AND smokes A LOT MORE, but I figured it would be a huge difference between the level 2 and level 5. I am just out of my mond?? And yes, my wire is tapped, with a blue chip plate.

It should make a HUGE difference 2x2 compared to 5x5 thats another 65hp

i would look at the MAP sensor IAT or send the box back to Edge

look for boost leaks, what is the boost at 5x5 compared to 2x2?

What do I do with the MAP sensor?? Whre is it and what am I looking for? As for differences in boost. On 2x2 I hit about 32psi, on 5x5 I hit about 34-35psi. Only a 2-3 difference in boost between level 2 and 5.

the map sensor is on the drivers side 3/4 to the rear of the head i think you need a 1 1/8 deep well socket, it has a plug on it, there is not much you can do to clean it other then replace it,

the IAT sensor is just behind that and you can clean it.

do a test: put the box on 5x5 floor it and then let up on the peddle a little see it the power picks up if it does then do a APPS reset

i am not sure on your turbo but i think you should be seeing more boost then 35psi

is your turbo have a waste gate?

look for boost leaks

I will clean the IAT tonight. I know from the past that if I floor it on 5x5 a let off, I loose power quickly. As for my wastegate, I believe it was set at 40psi, HOWEVER, when I switched out exhaust housings I had toturn the actuator rod to clear the hose. I think I may have turned it out and I know that lowers when the waste gate opens. Maybe the wastegate is opening too soon and bleeding off. If it is progressive it may start to open at say 35-36 and I am loosing power. HTT said this turbo runs best right close to 410psi. With my stock HY35 I would hit 41psi and there was a bigger difference it seemed between level 2 and level 5 on the box. I'll do the IAT thing tonight and then play with the actuator rod. HTT said 4-5 turns in(clockwise) was worth 3-4psi. The most I have hit with my current set-up is 35. 7psi. I have looked all over for boost leaks and have not seen any. Before I swapped turbos(HY-HTBG) I blew an intercooler line off. I inspected that line up and down and it looks clean. Worse case, I could have the system pressure checked. FYI, the two settings I am currently comparing are 2x2 and 5x5.

Just took out the IAT sensor and checked it out. Looked real good. I cleaned it anyways and put it back in. I'll see how is does tomorrow.

I have the edge comp with a 4 inch down tube and on 5X1 I have blown several intercooler hoses off the pipes, the boost gauge only goes to 35psi I can bury the boost gauge very quick what I found on the intercooler hoses is if they are not perfect on the pipes they are easy to blow off I am looking for a new gauge to replace the 35 psi with a larger psi rating I always leave it on 5X1

When I blew the line off the intercooler, it was very noticeable. It was one line that came completely off on the passenger side. I put it back on after inspecting it and found no problems. Since cleaning the IAT last night it seems to run a little better and smoother. I didn't get on it this morning to see if it affected boost, but like I said it did seem to be a little more responsive and smoother.

Do I need any kind of boost elbow? I had something on my stock turbo... I belive it kept the wastegate closed... not really sure.

Boost elbows are used to fool the wastegate actuator into opening later (at a higher pressure). They are essentially a controlled leak so the actuator "sees" less boost than there actually is. Some are adjustable with different sized "jets".

You don't need one with your 'BG. You can adjust the length of the actuator rod to get your needed boost.
