Somewhere floating around this group, there's a drawing of the pump wire and its location - but I couldn't find it to provide a pointer...
ANYWAY, there are a pair of wires right at the top/rear of the VP-44 that exit the top of the pump, and TIGHTLY run down vertically to a location lower on the pump - I dunno exactly where to - the exposed portion is only several inches long and a real BI+CH to get to on some pumps due to lack of needed slack to access and assault the REAR (closest to the engine) wire in the pair that are VERY enclosed in an outer protective jacket - they then must be pulled apart enough to get to the proper one...
That portion was the hardest of the entire install for me - and there was no way I could use the supplied Scotchlock, even if I had wanted to - instead, I carefully pierced the wire with a small very sharp awl, right thru the insulation and inner wires, and carefully threaded a solder-tinned wire thru the opening, crimped it as tightly as possible, taped it - with equal difficulty - and then secured everything with a nylon cable tie pulled as tight as I could get it - so far, it is working gteat...
It's all worth the effort - I just wanted to prepare you - good luck!
