I beleive you just need the plug adapters call Edge to verify

Well thats what i thought, but a lady there said nope want work. . Different chip set. . Nevers hurts for a second opinion. . Just hate to have it and not able to use it. .

I think that the map sensors have different resistance values or something like that that prevents the 98-00 units from working on 01-02 trucks. 01 and 02 work with each other with just an adapter.

Correct, the 98. 5-00 trucks have a different reference voltage to the MAP sensor than the 01/02 trucks.

that being said, can you/is there a way to trick the comp so it would just see full boost(if you werent worried about smoke control etc)

that way enabling a certain degree of compatibility(jumper,resistor,etc??)





a friend of mine with a 98. 5 might be interested in my comp off my 01 if i could make it work, smoke control,lower settings are not an issue

you might try to keep the map unhooked and try jumping the 5v ref to the signal return all on the comp side of the harness. if it doesn't work, sorry.
