OK I posted this in the wrong forum earlier... . I want to upgrade my EZ to a COMP. I still have the stock clutch it seems to be fine with the EZ and 275's What can I do to make the stocker work for a while longer with the comp? What should be the highest levels? towing?

Too many unknowns and variables - how heavy do you tow, what sort of terrain, what driving habits, etc... .

I see figures here from 750-850 ft lbs torque as the liveable limit for a stock HO clutch - with only the Comp on my truck, I'm at about 820 ft lbs at the flywheel, and you would be substantially higher with the additional mods you list - I'd say you would be on VERY thin ice, unless you keep a Comp turned way down - then, what's the point?

Occasionally I tow up to 22,000 lbs (310sg backhoe and trailer) I live in the mountains and when I am empty I drive real aggresive.

I don't need the power when towing so much, the egts will be to high anyway and with that kind of weight in the mountains I need to keep it slow anyway where I want the power is running empty up the mountain passes I weighed my truck @ the pit last week and it weighed 8300 lbs.

You should be okay if you tow with comp on level one or two with 275 injectors. I was okay with my Y2K 6 speed with DD2 and an EZ. I slipped the clutch on my test drive after installing my comp box with pump wire attached. Just be careful. Once you slip the clutch, it will just get worse and start slipping more and will be looking for a SBC clutch.

You might even want to just turn the comp box off and use it for advancecd timing only.

You will forget and nail it at 1600-1900 RPM and the clutch will give up. It will happen sooner or later, likely sooner.
