I have an SO with 47RE (upgraded). Before installing my Edge EZ I was averaging 17. 5 MPG. After installing the EZ on it's default setting - level 3 - my mileage improved to 18. 5MPG (average after 2 tanks of diesel). I switched the EZ to level 4 and my mileage has increased to 22. 3MPG (average after 2 tanks of diesel. )

Why would my mileage increase 4 MPG just by switching from level 3 to level 4? The engine is a bit louder on level 4, and the power seems to be slightly less than at level 3. I have checked the jumper settings to be sure they are correct and all mileage is unloaded without anything in tow.

MPG Computation

LBelt,

Are the mileage figures coming from your computer or derived mathematically by you at the pump? On the 2nd gen trucks, like mine, the overhead computer uses a throttle position to figure fuel mileage. With the Edge box, the throttle does not have to be pressed as far down to deliver the same amount of fuel to move the vehicle and the computer thinks you're getting great fuel mileage. On mine, the overhead says I'm getting between 24 and 26 mpg in town!!! I wish:D Mathematically, I'm getting about 17mpg in town on winterized fuel and about 20mpg hiway... I cant' complain about that. I suspect that the 3rd Gen truck computers are set up the same... anyone with better info than this, please chime in.

You are correct. I've checked the accuracy fo the overhead display on numerous occasions and it has laways been accurate - however the EZ throws that accuracy right out the window.

Thanks for the heads up!
