Edge EZ Causing Check Trouble Code?

I read on another site that people have had problems with their Edge EZ box going bad and causing a 1698 trouble code (no communication between ECM and injection pump). Has anyone here had a similar experience? I got the same code a couple days ago, so I pulled the EZ off and started praying that I won't have to replace my injection pump (75k on the truck). It drove fine exept for an occasional hiccup with the box wired in. Without the box, I haven't felt any hiccups, but I've only gone about 20 miles.
