pull over? keep going until over the grade or do you stop. But you can not

stop in the middle of the road . pardon my ignorance , i am just curious what

All you've gotta do is let off that go pedal for a few seconds - it's amazing how quickly the temps drop. You shouldn't have any problems just with the EZ though, all I have is a 4" exhaust and a Scotty II intake and I can't make mine go over 850.

Tow with mine on level 4 all the time. Even with 18-20k across NM and AZ I have to work it really hard to reach 1350+, usually top of 5th or 80+ MPH in 6th! Lose the stock muffler and watch the temps drop 150-200* in all conditions. Oh, by the way your gauges should have gone in first.

Honestly... . 1350... is starting to get warm. I've seen well over 1600 for probably 20 seconds, I pulled the head off to do a headgasket... . the pistons are all in good shape. Good enough you can still read the type/punched lettering and numbering on the top of them! My recommendation for keeping a little cooler..... like HeavyHauler said, back out of the throttle for a second or two. You may not have to back out all the way to get them down where you like to see them. EGT's will do damage with longer runs. A couple second spike shouldn't do any damage.

*This is all by what I have seen and heard.

Ditto on what Josh said - shorts bursts of high EGT's shouldn't hurt anything. It's only when you run one hot for too long that you'll have problems.

Make sure you allow the truck plenty of time to cool off before you shut it off too. But again, non of this should be a problem with just an EZ.
