If I take out all four allen screws... ... . which way does the cover slide off to access the jumper settings?

Jason

P. S. Only two of the connectors are used for the EZ, correct?

Only loosen the two allen head screws on the end OPPOSITE where the cabling enters the box. Only the end cover (that piece of steel about 1/2" x 3" long) comes off. You will see three pairs of jumper wires and one pair will be connected with a jumper. Default is maximum low end fueling. Move the jumper and replace the allen screws.

Thanks for the reply... ..... but according to the paper work it says that default is just the opposite... ... ... that it is max fueling... ... . I will look and see where it is at... ... . thanks again.

Jason

WOW your both right.

The three settings on the EZ control the boost pressure at which the fueling occurs.

#1= 20psi

#2=10psi

#3=3psi

So what he is saying Jason is that you at default to level 3 so you are getting most or max fuel at the low end. This is also the default setting if you run the box with out a jumper at all (no jumper= level 3). Some have found that it did not come from the factory on level three but the vast majority do.

I always found level #2 to be the best for me all around when I had an EZ

That's what I said, maximum low end fueling. Read it again. ;-)

Sorry it was just an innocent mistake... ... ..... New tho the EZ world... ... . sorry... ... . Now my next question... ... . Is the Horsepower the same once the boost kicks in at all three settings?

Jason

Well, Yes but no? It is the same fueling but since you arer getting it later in the game the result is your not hitting the same peak HP. I tried a couple settings on the dyno and found with 275s and the ez I hit 303 hp at the rear wheels on level 3 or w/o the jumper. On level 2 it was lower but only by about 10hp. You just don;t have the time before a shift to build the hp.

I have one more setting for you. I ordered the timing only and timing and fuel Edge EZ from ADT. When the box came in it was set at the the timing only setting with jumpers on the one and two settings. I called ADT and they called Edge and they told them to use the same box and used jumpers on 1 and 2 for the timing only option.

Smoking EZ

Since we are on the topic of the EZ. What is the best setting so that my truck isn't smoking so much? Seems like sometimes it smokes alot and at other times it burns the fuel. I haven't changed the setting since I got it so I may put the jumper on setting 2 instead of 3. Another thing, I never saw any increase in MPG how about you guys?

I have not tried the # 3 seting, but tried the # 1 and # 2 and settled on the #2. It lets the power come in at 10 LBS of boost. This is enough boost to burn all but a small "puff" of fuel on hard acceleration. The reason I have not tried the # 3 setting is the same reason I have never tried crack, I might like it and I don't want it. I think the # 2 setting allows full clutch engagement and might help protect the clutch/tire/driveline from early excessive power. The power on the #1 setting only comes in under fairly aggressive driving and hard pulling.

CM,

Put the jumper to level 2 and see how it works out for you. I said earlier level 2 seems to be the best for all situations. I don't see gauges in your sig but with a boost gauge you can figure out exactly how you truck reacts and what you have to do to get the extra fuel. On level 2 with stock injectors you should not have any smoke unless it is very hot and humid. You should also see a mileage increase as you are not adding the extra fuel just the timing and extra boost, etc in most situations. Where as on level 3 you are pretty much adding fuel all the time.

Best setting to protect an Auto transmission?

I have been running mine on the Factory setting for 6 months. Have taken the EZ off several times fearing it's too hard on the stock auto. Sounds like changing to the #2 setting might protect the auto? You would get the extra power at a higher RPM with better line pressure in the transmission.

I wondered myself when fueling "comes in" so I emailed Aaron and he replied with this.

Level 3-3lbs

Level 2-10lbs

Level 1-15lbs

I get great info just lurking. This is one of those times. I just went out to the barn spent 2 min changing to #2 setting. I went for a drive and like it. Yes take it easy on the clutch, and reduce smoke from a stop. I'm sure working a hill with the trailer will be the same as it has been... . Thanks Guys

Jumper Setting #2

Took my jumper off of setting 3 and placed it on the #2 pin. I really didn't notice any power difference between the two settings but I no long see black smoke as I'm gettting on the pedal in 3rd or 4th. It still has the get up and go of a gasser.

I'm waiting to see if I get better Fuel Mileage out of this setting. I'll be able to post that in about 4 days, just filled up.

I drove mine all weekend on the #2 setting. I like it much better than the default setting. I think the extra power at low RPM/boost screws up the shift points on a stock auto. It shifts into OD at too low of an RPM on the default setting. Under light throttle, the #2 setting shifts more like it did before the EZ. This has got to be better on the transmission.
