Well I went to the search optoin but it gave me nothing so here goes...

I dyno'd the truck today, bone stock 305/555, HO, 48re, 3. 73 gears, except an Edge EZ on level 4...

1st run 315. 7hp / 623. 7tq

2nd run 318. 8hp / 627. 4tq

Air temp 72. 6

barometric pressure 29. 67

vapor pressure 0. 13 in. Hg.

correction factor 0. 98 SAE

both done in OD starting from about 70 mph start (to keep it in OD)...

Are these numbers about right??? I am pretty happy with the trucks power, I was just wondering if this was about average...

Of course my next question would be... Is 375-400hp a hard mark to hit without major $$$$, maybe air intake, exhaust, and some timing do the job without having to swap turbos??? If I upgrade anything it has to stay simple (since the wife drives it all week and I only get in on the weekends :{ ) no extra switches, etc... She has a hard enough time accepting the Pyro and idle down idea...

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Dave,

Rats!!! I really wanted to be there. Just my take, but realistically on the dyno I'd say that a good intake system and unrestricted exhaust should get those numbers up to 350 to 360HP,... most probably closer to the 350HP. Much higher than that and you probably should be thinking FASS or something similar b-4 you do the additional upgrades to make sure your not running out of fuel. Good luck.

Dave - Just my opinion - but You will need injectors or the mighty TST to hit 400 + HP. I ran a couple different edge ez modules at level 6 with 4 in. exhaust & cold air intake - To be honest my truck ran like a bloated hog compared to now, With mods below. Level 4 on the ez I thought was sad.

Not knocking your truck - I just think the edge ez is weak.

One other note about the stock turbo - I ran that sucker hard - but never stayed above 1350 deg for extended lengths of time. When I swapped it out for the new turbo - It was still as tight as new - looked fine.

thanks guys, I don't feel like your knocking the truck at all... ;)

I might just shoot for a decent 350 range (sounds more realistic), I kind of thought my torque would have been a little higher, but that may have been from the 70mph jump start...

I really have all the power I need now to pull my trailers around, it's just nice to explore the other possibilities...

I know the Edge box isn't the most powerful out there, but it is pretty simple and reliable, the only thing that would make it a little nicer is if it was in cab adjustable (or just easier to adjust)... those little jumpers are a real pain to get to and move around...

TST is a nice product, but I am not very good at limiting myself and it would just be calling my name every time I started the truck, "Turn me up... . Turn me up, promise I won't hurt anything :-laf !!!!"

So are those dyno numbers about average??? If low maybe I could start from there and just make sure everything is up to par, (fuel pressure, clean injectors, etc. )

Thanks

Dave

Dave your truck dyno #s are where they should be ;)

To be honest the Bully dog down loader looks good for the money, if it puts the power to the ground as advertised stack it with your ez. 350 + hP.

The tst on the other hand like you say - ( Just a little more power ) I went one block after installing the tst - then level 9 - 5 Clutch slipped hard :-laf

Then get home stack a Quadzilla then --------- Its a sickness. ;)

Well there where a couple of guys there with the Down Loader and got terible numbers, one guy 305/555 with an EZ gained 85HP with the EZ, then added his DL on extreme and only make another 35 HP  ... Needless to say he was not happy...

See you are worse than me, I probably would have went at least 3 blocks before turning it up :p (so the wife didn't hear the tires balling)... :-laf

thanks everyone for the input... OT-OF-HERE, you missed a pretty good day, I did get to meet TommyGun... Lets hook up soon...

BTW, I talked to the guy at 1st capital 4WD- they will do saturdays for large groups @ $50 for 3 pulls --- same dyno with rpm hookup and 48nich roller --- I told him i would call a couple weeks ahead if we have a lrage group coming...

ussual is about $75 for 3 pulls

Great and he has a HUGE lot to park trucks on...

A brand new Hooters is just across the hwy from him now :-laf , talk about a great day... Also have a family member owns "Wicked Stickers" that makes great stickers and does an awsome job tinting windows (his shop is about 1 mile from there) and he could probably cut some decent deals on stickers and tinting...

heck we could make this a really fun event in the blink of an eye... Oo.

Maybe the Bully Dog guys would have the bugs worked out by then and want to come out to impress us??? :D

sounds like a plan to me!!!

but I wish i had the money to get that B-1 i have had my eye on before the next dyno event  ($1800 doesn't grow on trees, ya know)

Dave and Tomeygun,

I could go for a deal like that at 1st capital. Pretty tied up until mid Dec though. On the Bullydog,... from the threads and posts I've seen then surely that was a bad box or maybe the harness was defective. I think that Keith had the box and then Bullydog hooked up with him at SEMA and gave him the harness to complete the package. Bet it was defective. Those numbers can't be right. I talked with him last night and suggested he send that whole mess back to them to get checked out.
