edge ez problem

I got this edge ez that I took off a truck when I was working at the dealership over 2 years ago, well I put it on dads truck to see what it would do with mileage and after one day he calls me and says that his truck won't start. I go try to start the truck and it would run for about 3 seconds and then die, kinda like what happens when you don't use the chipped key. I unhooked the chip and it started right up.



Anyways put it on my buddy's truck yesterday and he tells me it did the same thing. Was wondering if anybody else had problems with their chips, I have heard of people on other sites with problems with thier edges but I don't remember anything like this.

I bought a used EZ and put it on my '07 and ran it one day, to work and back. The next morning, I'm just getting to hiway speed, and I'm thinking I'm getting a flat, or that there is a rock lodged between the duals, because my truck is shaking. I figured out that it was in the engine, so turn around and go back home and disconnect the EZ. I called Edge and sent it back for reprogramming and it worked when I got it back, but later sold it to a friend after I got a Smarty Jr. and started using that.

It is the same model year truck? There are different EZ's for different year models.

it fits 04. 5-07



one truck was a 04. 5 one was a 06, it worked on the 04. 5 about a year ago

The model number should be EZD1000D that should fit 04. 5-07 trucks.



My edge never did anything like that

I believe I have model EZD1000C and have not ever experienced this problem. I have noticed a "hiccup" ever so often and have found that after each event, the EZ box is pretty hot. Not trying to get off the subject, but was curious if this is normal and/or if any of you have witnessed the same.

ya its a 1000d, ive looked it up on their website many times to make sure it was right, sent them an email yesterday and havn't heard anything.
