Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) EDGE EZ Problem

I have a problem. Back in October, I purchased an Edge EZ from DieselTruckResource.com. Well, for one reason after another, I did not get around to installing it until this past weekend. When I tried to hook up the MAP sensor, I discovered that I have the wrong EZ. My MAP sensor has three prongs in a row about ½ “ long. The EZ has three prongs arranged in a “triangle”, two on the “bottom” and one on the “top”. Well it appears that DieselTruckResource.com. has closed the store and I haven’t had any response to my e-mail.



Am I just missing an adapter or am I out $525. 00? Heck, I don’t even know what truck the EZ would fit so that I could try and sell it. Man this just makes me sick, It could be a long time before I can scrape up that money again.



Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

I would contact Edge directly and tell them about the problem, I believe all you need is a simple adapter for a few bucks.

I think MAP sensor voltages are different.



I ran into the same problem last Saturday with a customer of mine. He wasn't sure on the year, and all I had was a '98. 5-00 Box, and his truck was an '01, needless to say, the box didn't work.



The box you have is for an '01 truck ('02's require another box or adaptor)



Call Aaron @ Edge,, he should get this straightened out for ya.

The Box he has sounds more like one for a 98. 5 - 99 model. He has an 01' so, the box is obviously not for an 01'. Either way, I know that adapters are available, if not maybe Edge would exchage the unit back for the correct one.

I stand corrected. He has a '98. 5-00 box, and owns a '01 truck.



I tried to get an adaptor, but was told that the Boxes themselves are different.

I bought an EZ

about 1 month ago for my '99 and it came with a adaptor. If Edge says the box will work and all you need is the adaptor, let me know. You can have mine. I obviously do not need it.
