I just installed an Edge EZ. Which settings should I use?? I tow on a daily basis a 16' enclosed trailer that weighs in around 5,000 lbs, or a 18' flat with a small back hoe that weighs in at 6,000 lbs. Once a year we rent a fifth wheel around 30' and 8,000 lbs - 10,000 lbs, depending on what is available, to Talladega ( 1,400 miles ). My cat is gutted and I have a Flowmaster chambered free flowing muffler on the way. I do not have any gauges yet, but that is my next purchase as budget allows. I realize I probably should of bought them first. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!

Gauges first! You've have to know what the EGT's are doing before adding fuel. The '05 trucks run hot from the factory, with an EZ and towing will run hotter.

According to most people, in order to prevent injector damage you want to run on the lower settings most of the time. For the occasional play session you can run the higher levels, but leave it on the lower settings for daily use and towing. The EZ is a great product. Some on this site have had them on their trucks for 80k+ miles w/o problems.

There is a thread over on DTR or NW Bombers that shows what excessive pressure will do to injectors. Look for posts by Don M, he's the F1 injector guy.

You may want to consider a different muffler, like a MBRP replacement muffler. A diesel has different requirements than a gas motor, and the straight-through mufflers perform better.
