Alright Gang. Here's my dilemna. I have a 2003 H. O. CTD and have been very happy with it. Although not a problem perse, I have noticed while towing, that the truck has a definate "sweet" spot. Setting the cruise at 70MPH with my 8,000 TT, the truck will run almost all day without a downshift and the MPH will drop maybe 5MPH on hills. I have tried towing at 65MPH and she wants to downshift on every little hill. So, I was looking at the Edge EZ looking for something that was 1) "plug and play" and 2) not too intense for a guy who is not looking to pull max GCWR. Has anyone out there used the Edge EZ and what have your experiences been? They advertised less downshifts. I also realize the box has to be opened to change settings which I don't mind. Anyhow, shoot me your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I like the EZ. Makes a big difference. You will run a little hotter while towing especially on the higher settings but I think you'll be pleased.

Les, what EGT's do you see on your truck while towing with the EZ on the lower settings since your unit is pretty much how mine would be ('04 with no exhaust or intake mods)? How long have you been running with it installed?

With the EZ you'll be able to hold the hills at 75mph and accellerate. Egts might peak up around 1350*ish when you lay into it, but they peak and come down pretty quick. Had mine on a little over year and liked it. Ran on level 5 most of the time by the way.
