first timer posting on tdr, my bud has a edge -ez, 600 series that he wants to sell me for my 05 ctd, will this leave any footprints for dealer to find if they hook up to the computer, if i ever have any warranty issues ?from what i understand the ez will boost my fuel pressure and turbo . talked directly to edge products and they said no, called a local speed shop ,they also told me no, talk to a local dealer and she told me that they could tell something was hooked up, she seamed very sincere , she didnt try to talk me out of it . almost 20,000 mile and not even 1 problem . looking for the truth from you experts. :-{}

I can't answer your question, but I also have a 600 series EZ manufactured in July 2004 that I want to put on my 2006. I emailed Edge and asked if there had been any software updates to the product since it was released, and they said that it was a very simple product and there have not been any software revisions since they put it on the market, so any EZD1000D out there is safe for any 2004. 5 and up CTD. Just in case you wondered

It is nowhere as easy to detect as a downloader that resets the key cycles and other stuff. Normally if you take it in and there is not a box on the truck and no evidence, such as velcro on the fuse box, they wouldn't even try to look. But if they want, they can dig into your computer and see that the boost # is abnormally high, or the fuel rail pressure has been higher than normal.



Bottom line, is knowing that when we add HP and something breaks we may have to pay for it ourselves.

If your OK with that, then plug er in and have fun.

decided to give it a try, installed it last night, used only the 1 and 2 setting , i cant believe how much it really woke the truck up . didnt beat on it , but there is a big diff. over stock, ill just keep it mellow as hopefully nothing will ever happen.

Good luck! I started out thinking all I was going to do was put in a stereo and a chip. Now I've got everything in my sig, plus I'm waiting on a new turbo, intercooler, & shocks, and dreaming of the day when I blow a headgasket so I can justify porting the head.

should you have to use any gages with the ez, and if so what kind. plus edge products were the one who told me that it would affect the turbo.

Gauges are a good idea with any HP addition. At the very least, an EGT. Adding more fuel and towing a heavy load up long grades can really raise your EGT's.



In my book, I'd say it's a necessary tool to protect your investment.

if someone knows more than i could find out about upgrading from 05 to 06,I would sure like to know. wiring harness is different. etc.
