I spent yesterday installing boost, egt, fuel pressure, & trans temp guages. I was thinking of geting an Edge ez. Will my stock trans hold up ? I use my truck to pull a enclsed race trailer. I have 90,00 miles left on my warranty, should I wait??

Mine worked fine.......

11K lb. daily driver and it held up well. I did turn up the line pressure a little though. We also have one on the 02 and it's working fine too.

After the DD2's all bets were off. :D :D

I had an EZ on my truck with the stock transmission for about 10K miles,

it held the power.

But, you will want more transmission once you start upgrading power.

If you happen to be one of the lucky one's and got a good trans. it will hold up for awhile, I was not lucky, my trans. started slipping after a few thousand miles, so did two of my friends.

I would also advise when driving in town or pulling a heavy load to lock out overdrive under 50 mph, I always did this and my stock Auto transmission never slipped.

Also keep the fluid changed every 10k miles.

HTRDHLR,

I have a Edge EZ for sale ($325. 00) I am taking the one off my truck to upgrade! I see you have an '01 so it will work for you. Just shoot me a PM if interested.

Manual or Auto?

You don't say if you have a manual or auto. I installed an EZ on my 5 speed, last year. Occasionally pull a 10K 5th wheel and have not had any problems as of yet... Boy, it did make a difference in available power after I installed it... Gained a gear on steep (7%) hills and can now pull in 4th where before I was limited to 3rd... On most other hills, I can just leave it in 5th... :D

I would recomend running the EZ on setting #2 if you want to protect the transmission. I ran mine on the factory setting for 6 months and did not like the way the auto transmission shifted. Setting #2 is much better on the transmission.

I have had an EZ on my 01' auto 2500 for over a year now. Over 10k miles, no problems, great increase in power. I never changed any settings on it, its exactly how it came from the factory. Best mod i have done to my truck
