I have read here and there about Edge chips.

What do the chips really do? And people talk about not plugging in the pump wire from the comp. Besides avoiding warrentee issues, what does that do?

they arent "chips" they are fueling and ignition boxes. the box advances timing, and when the pump wire is pierced, it allows the VP44 (injection pump) to deliver more fuel (IMO more efficently as well). you might as well buy an EZ if you arent planing on piercing the wire, they are the exact samething other wise.

Depending on the year of your truck there is a chance that it will kill your injection pump. The 98 and 99 have a higher failier rate when the wire is tapped. BTW The drag comp is great:D With the comp you can turn it off where the E-Z has no control from the cab.
