Edge Garbage problems

i'm not one to post on here to much,but thought somebody may have some ideas,
I have an Edge CTS2 with attitude on a 2002,,the truck sat in storage for 1.5 years,now when you turn on the key it says corrupt software,so i go on the Edge website to install the update software,but when i connect,it says something is wrong with the program and to close,tried to call Edge on a number of occasions but no answer,EVER,and seems they disabled email contact for them,i know there are a lot of problems with the Edge tuners,but their customer service is about the worst i have ever come across,and when googlin "Edge products problems",,i get millions of hits,that says a lot i think,maybe someone on here might have some insight on if there is any way to fix this before i throw the stuff in the garbage and go for a more reputable company like Banks,i need to buy a programmer and monitor for my megacab,it certainly wont be Edge stuff,does anybody have any recommendations,

Maybe a used Smarty Jr. and some mechanical gauges would suffice. Minimal plumbing.

i will look into that,or Banks,at least they answer the phone and have good customer service,Edge,disabled email contact and you can't leave a message for them to call you back,anything NOT to have to do customer service,i started ripping out all the Edge stuff in this truck,maybe make a nice Youtube video of the Edge crap being destroyed with a hammer,LOL,i'm sure i'm not the only one to do so,judging by the amount of bad comments i see when i Google Edge problems,,

what's the EPS have to do with Edge making garbage products and turning their backs on customers after they have problems with their sub standard products,

Because the EPA is now prosecuting companies that make tuners that increase your emissions!

I was checking a few prominent diesel companies today and seeing tuners.

With the whole diesel brothers going on again and the fact they are both in on it I’d guess that’s the reason several years ago when people first started deleting the new trucks the chip companies got in Trouble And couldn’t talk with customers about problems with the product or face a huge fine from epa. I have had an edge five stage for five years it came with the truck used when I bought it and it was several years old then never have had a problem with it

I've had the Edge Comp box (bought new) on mine since 02 and no problems. Banks makes very good products, EPA and CARB compliant, and Gale stands behind his stuff.

After a year and half of sitting, I'd be looking at the truck for corrosion build up on connections. Obviously the batteries would have been disconnected for that length of time too otherwise that would be horrible for everything electronic. And hopefully everything was reconnected correctly and pre-checked prior to starting a truck thats been sitting for that long. Point making is, are you positive the tuner is bad or was it damaged?

i managed to find someone to help.and he managed to get the Edge to update itself,i did get new batteries obviously,i knew the old batteries were not to good,they had been change just before storage but i didn't trust them to hold a charge.i got 2 new batteries from Cummins 1000CCA for a great price on sale.i will now work on getting the truck started,the corrupt software seems to have been resolved,we'll have to see if it works when put back in the truck.
hopefully it will work correctly,we;ll see,

i haven't tried to get it started since this virus crap started,i will say that Edge did try to reach out to me,right before this whole virus mess started,but this seems to screw up pretty much every thing for everybody,bt i will report back when i can get to the truck work,it's not my main truck,

Hootguy,

Edge has done great by me and everyone I know who has/had Edge products. They replaced the Edge Tow Pro at no cost after it failed ten years on my wife's former Ram 2500. And when I purchased my Edge CST2 Monitor last year for my 2017 Ram 5500, customer support was great proving answers to my questions about data logging.

Hope you're able to fix all of your problems.
