OK, trying to narrow down a problem since installing my Insight... it has not read over 37psi since installation.

I was reading around 45psi before, but that was a different gauge (BullyDog Outlook clone). We did the boost referencing, and replaced the waste gate actuator... we thought it might just need adjusting. Adjusted the waste gate and no change. Our next step is to check the ECM and the boost using a mechanical gauge... but I'm trying to get some ideas.

One thing I don't know is what sensor the boost is read from... I'm assuming its the MAP sensor? If I read both the boost and MAP at the same time, they seem to correlate closely; topping out at the same time.

One thing that was weird, I had an overboost code which hasn't returned since I cleared it... it did NOT trip the CEL, but we think it may have put the truck into a limp mode as I have loads more bottom end since clearing; however boost didn't change.

Something I did notice (or think I noticed, it might simply be I hadn't paid that close of attention before), but the boost will read to 0. 1psi, but it seems to jump by 1. 0psi. I want to remember it read by 0. 1psi, but I really don't know?

I'm thinking one of two things: either the Insight won't read the correct boost because the SmartyJr is boost fooling, or I got a bad MAP/Boost sensor.

Thoughts??
