I just installed a Juice on my bro-inlaws truck, just wanna know what to set the EGT limit at? Truck is a 00' auto with a home made K&N intake and a 5" exhaust!

Mine was set at 1350 stock I believe. I think i bumped it to 1400 when I installed Banks intercooler kit and the AFE intake. that being said I would tell your bro to switch to an afe filter, ie they filter better and have a higher cfm flow rate.
 
Pistons start to melt at 1400*... . if held there to long. I would set it at 1250* & never let it stay at 1250* too long on a hill towing.
 
You gotta also remember that once you start getting close to you set point it will start to defuel on you, i know its bad to get it up around 1300, 1400 even 15 or 1600 but if you set it up high it wont defuel but you just have to watch your gauge and use your head. The boost set point is the same way.
 
Thanks for the info fellas! What should we set the boost to? Im a Third Genner so not to sure what the safe points are for the Second Gen! Whats should he set his boost to?

Ditto on the K&N, they let too much through. Any filter you can hold up to the light and see holes is NOT going to catch enough, I don't care what bull story the manufacturer tries to sell you (I worked in a performance shop in 90 and a K&N rep told us that dirt doesn't get through the holes because it is trapped by the oil... yeah, right)! Go Afe, or better, get an Amsoil Ea filter (nanofiber technology from Donaldson), it uses no oil and you just blow it clean with a compressor at about 12psi.
 
Yeah the probe is pre turbo, he was lookin at a exhaust that already had a probe tap in the down pipe and wanted to get that and put the Juices probe in there and i told him it wouldnt read right, so he went with another exhaust!



BTowler i told him to get a AFE Stage I with the PG7, but he didnt listen!!#@$%!
