I have been paying more attention to the Attitude's configuration abilities. Most importanly the Backdown feature. My un-official findings are that, with MAX Boost set to 36psi, Max EGT set to 1300, I "feel" more responce and longer hard pulls with the back down's "On". Yesterday I seen 70%. This could all be in my head tho too. Becuase when I intentionally turn the backdowns off, I'm mentaly ready for speed, were as other times, it's more a reaction to traffic and I wasn't ready for the hard pull in 5th from 50mph and before I know it's approaching 100mph :)

This is also turbo + fuel theory as well. I suppose I should turn on my Intake temp display to varifiy these temp numbers. I'm look for tested experience here with in my trucks means.

Stock turbo. Stock injectors. I'm just running Hot Juice with straight pipe. . At WOT, at any settings thus far my exhuast color is rather grey/brown. It's not locomotive coal like some of you 2nd gen folks here. I can get this level of black smoke durning low boost only and clears right up at 12+ PSI. I'm assuming I have sufficient air to burn the fuel the edge chip is providing.

Here's the deal if I have the edge limit boost to 36psi, I will see no more then 37psi on the display, at this point, the chip is defueling to limit boost. EGT are about 1100-ish, all the way up to 100mph. .

If I run with back downs off, I'll see 40psi, maybe 41, EGT might tag 1200-1250. but she feels slower.

Question here, the turbo should be creating more hot air at 40psi (full fueling vs. 36psi (with less fueling). Is this difference in air temp going to dramaticly decrease HP that much? I wish I had numbers!!!!! I may get these numbers at lunch and go for a drive.

Anyone get some techincal details on this with their own trucks yet?

Friend lives in the middle of no where and I may do some 0-60 runs with the edge monitoring times with differnet settings at his place. Is that 1/8mile tracks open still in MN this time of year?

the track is closed. and your boost is way out of your compressor map. so you not making cool boost its hot as heck, prolly close to 400F.

I'll go for a run around town at lunch today and see what the intake is at. Sotck PSI is 28-ish. I figured that below the max for this turbo. 32 34 still in range?

Anyone have any published numbers for this turbo?

Well I had a similar HOT Juice setup for a while. HOT Juice and stock turbo and LP. You can make 41-42psi of boost, but like stated above your only making hot air and not efficiently using anything over 34-36psi probably. You will probably get better WOT 1/4 mile numbers running on 100hp setting and all backdowns off, than 180hp. I dont remember if the HOT Juice on 180hp could suck the LP to 0, but an EZ stacked did very easy on level 2. And also remember the Attitude boost numbers become inaccurate when approaching 40psi. The 180hp setting on the HOT Juice is really outside of what the stock turbo can support. Every truck and situation is going to act a little different, but your only really making extra heat and maybe smoke on that setting. Just my . 02.

The Level 5 did make a noticeable improvemnet. According to Edge, HOT isn't supposed to run the fuel dry. I suspect close, but not dry.

And yes, I know this turbo is not anywhere near sufficient at this level of power. but until it blows up, or I get a new one, I wish to get the most out of things.

Well then I would run level 5 with LBF no higher than 3. That will give the stock turbo a chance at staying up with the fuel delivered. The HOT Juice does a very good job of keeping EGTs under control. I never really had to worry about EGTs with the HOT Juice even on stock turbo. I agree that you will have more power, especially on short bursts. Full out WOT 1/4 mile would push EGTshigh and performance down some though. Try not to nuke everything at once and have fun, I did.

BTW, when I played with mine I turned all backdowns off so I really knew what it would do. Don't necessarily recommend that, but that way you know what real EGT and Boost numbers get to. But it is like they say "Living on the EDGE" .

I run with the backdowns off quite a bit. infact, I'm just pondering leaving my MAX settings to way of the chart so I'm not bothered with the extra work to disable things. .

As far as intake temps go, I did my run around the block at lunch and I'm assuming the intake temp sensor isn't very fast to respond, or inaccurate or something. But I was bearly able to get the intake temp more then 20degrees above outside temp. typicaly it's 15 more then outside temp.

Yea, I think that is kind of misleading anyway. I have seen intake temps very low and EGTs very high at the same time. I would not worry about trying to tie those readings together that way. For daily driving I would leave the max EGT and Boost to where you are comfortable and not worry.
