I've always enjoyed and advised on Edge products. All around good product. Tho the reliability hasn't always been quality. Every 6 months it seems I'm pulling it out and sending it back in for something to be fixed.

Recently I've noticed my smoke levels are down, WOT Lift pump fuel pressure only getting to 3psi as apposed to near 0 (prolly a good thing... ), and I can't really blanket the highway like I used to.

Call into edge and I have an RMA to send it in yet again. This time they have an entire new main board design, version 16. 1 I believe. Currently I'm on EDJ3000AHot version 3. 1 build date: 10-17-2006

This will be the last time I send it in, next time I'm selling the thing, somehow.

And to boot, with my repeated records of sending things in, they could not ship out a new unit prior to my returned unit. It really sucks having to pull things apart. and then 7 days later re-install when you have an install all nicely concealed in plastic covers and intermixed with other things.

I"m happy that I'm for sure WAY out of any warranty on the original purchase, not so happy that I have to yet again, send it in...

I have the same programmer and recently sent mine in to have the attitude monitor re-flashed. My product was resetting itself back to factory settings on a weekly basis before the reflash.

I was not happy to discover that the reflash no longer has the Trans Slip % in the records screen. You can still choose it as an option for the display but it registers N/A if you do. I guess I expected an explaination of why it was removed or that it had even been removed in the new version.

On a positive note though it no longer resets itself.

I too started out with the J/A and switched to the smarty because I got tired of pulling it out every time I hit the dealer for something and also got tired of pulling it out to send back to edge for whatever reason. I had to send mine back twice. I'd sell it as soon as you get it back and have Bob Wagner hook you up with a SMARTY. You won't be disapointed at all. I got 610 miles on my last tank on the highway with the smarty and I couldn't be happier with it.

DF,

Is your automatic stock, or have you improved it any?? I am curious how the Smarty effects it.

So far so good. transmission is all stock. I'm only running the smarty on 3 and the transmission acts very healthy and transmission temps are normal. I dyno'd a couple weeks ago and got 390 HP and 850 Torque. I can't really go much higher than that with a stock transmission. You really won't be disapointed with a smarty. The thing is awesome. I wouldn't trust anyone else but Bob to hook you up with one though. I speak from experience.

Jason, you and I have talked about this before, we have similar trucks. Recently I took a huge plunge with a 66 charger, flux sticks, studs, and a whole bunch of other stuff along with a smarty. Man, let me tell you, go with the smarty, it's 10 times better on the low end and just as good on the top end and spools that 66 right now. And the smarty is fixing to get a lot better, trust me:D Hey, anybody want a HOT Juice with Attitude? I am negotiable with the price. Jay

My plan is to sit perty with this setup until I get that charger upgrade. Then it's a TST and Smarty. Or that new VA box

Thanks for the reply, how is the fuel mileage?? I tow about 6k 90% of the time in winding and rolling terrain, with some very steep hills. I am getting between 10-11 mpg now. I would like to improve it a bit if I could.

I've noticed a 2-3 MPG increase over stock. When I'm towing my 9K travel trailer, I don't notice much of a difference because I have to drop the smarty down to #1. This is because my transmission is stock and I'm not ready for it to blow up just yet.
