Edge Level 5 Overload

Was out racing Porsches today on secret level number 5 on Edge EZ and engine light comes on, truck never skipped a beat. Got to the house and did the old key method and have codes:

0193, 0237, 0113, 0234, 2509, 2769, 0713 and 0868. Three of these codes were from my so-called professional transmission installers but the rest were I guess from secret level number 5.

Stripped truck back down to factory (except for purple transmission) and heading to my favorite small town dealership in the morning, we'll see if I have a warranty on anything after tomorrow. On a lighter note, going to Charlotte on Sunday to meet the Edge people on business at a trade show, any TDR members going to be there? -John

Just got back from Charlotte, cost me $68 to get the codes removed on Saturday, no questions asked. I got to dyno my truck but the numbers don't make any sense to me:



Stock 198 hp

Torque 773

Edge box 322. 9 hp

Max torque 1113



I also tested the Predator series DR Performance 80 hp box and the results were:

324. 7 hp

Torque 1129. 4



2nd try with Predator box:

331. 9 hp

Torque 1183. 5



That seems like a lot of torque for that hp. Had a great time with the Edge guys and they are sending me a proto-type Juice Box on Tuesday, can't wait!! -John

No offense but those numbers are pretty screwed up. The HP to torque ratio doesn't make any sense. Maybe the dyno wasn't working properly. BTW you gotta give us a full rundown on the juice. We have been waiting so long.....

The numbers didn't make any sense to me either. When I made the first run and only showed 198 hp I knew something was up. The edge guys did say it will be two weeks before they release the Juice and mentioned that one of our TDR members already has a proto-type installed and is testing. I had a lot of fun on the dyno even knowing the numbers don't mean squat. John

Hey, how was the show? we were gonna go but had other plans. I wanted to go just to talk to the edge guys. But I'm getting fed up with the company that put on the show, seems nothing is ever in stock and 2-3 week backorder turns into more than a month. took over 2 months to get some keeper straps for one of my customers. prices don't seem to be too good either. I guess the only good part I have found when using them is they are 10 minutes from home, so I can just go pick the stuff up.

Hit the nail on the head! I had a great time and met a lot of really nice people. The Predator rep gave me an 80hp box to try out (keep). The power comes on strong and very smooth, no surging, pretty pleased with it over all. Did a 180 on one of the connections and set off all the codes I just paid to have erased the day before. You have to pay close attention to the hook ups because one lead will hook up both directions. The Edge guys had a brand new F*&%D hooked up to the dyno and thrashed it! It was leaking coolant and they had to put a fan underneath to cool it off. By the time they were done with the Juice Box they had literally shredded all the rubber off the tires. The truck is now on it's way to the used car lot.
