After several emails with Andy at Smokin diesel, we've complied the following list of mods for my rig:

DTT trans and converter (still need to find a qualified installer in my area for this) I'll add the Mag-Hytec deep pan as a result of my previous post.

4" Free Flowing Exhaust

Free Flowing Air Intake System - AFE Mega Cannon

#4 Torque Plate

370 Injectors

High Flow Delivery Valves

3000rpm Governor Spring Kit

HX40 turbo

Anything else i should consider? Any items i should swap out or remove?

Andy is saying this should give me 400+HP at the rear wheels. :D

Ooops, forgot! I've got the Banks boost and EGT gauges installed already. EGT after the turbo and Andy suggested moving to the pre-turbo position.

Brian, IMHO the pre turbo would be best to get the quickest response to you EGT , it is also closer temp to what is actually going on in the combustion chamber, the only time post temp is good is to insure addiquate cool down before S/D... ... ... ... ... ... ... . JMO... . Kevin

HX40 Turbo

I'm sure Andy knows more about this than I do, but if the HX40 turbo has not been "Piersified", it could be prone to breakage. Several HX40 owners have reported problems.

I'm also trying to figure out what, if any, turbo I should get.

Bomb list

Bhale,

You got it nailed! Do it and your truck will be SCARY FAST

:D :D :D

You might want to add a valet switch if anyone else occasionally drives it.

Yep, the turbo choices are pretty wide. Andy also agreed that the one from Piers is a quality product and a bit cheaper. Of cousre the idea of getting everything done in one weekend and not getting my hands dirty is very appealing to me. Maybe i'll see if Andy will install the one from Piers.....

I would also suggest pre-turbo for the EGT's or you could do both, seeing that you already have one mounted post. Go with the Double Deep Mag-Hytec pan, not sure if that is what you meant by "deep" and don't forget to add a transmission temp gauge. You will love the AFE Mega Cannon - I have my turbo ring out also and it is a whistling monster:D

What/where is the turbo ring??? Is the same as the Siliencer ring? How do i take it out? I'd love to hear that thing sing instead of just a little whine... . :D

Yes it is the turbo silencer ring. Remove your hose going into the turbo and you will see a snap ring holding in a silencer ring, be careful to not damage the turbo vanes. Usually a pair of pliers and a screwdriver is all that is needed. Search for back posts on this, there have been numerous as well as an article in a previous TDR magazine.

Thats a great list. I agree with the gauge changes, however I see you have an auto and no transmission temp gauge. A must have for every auto transmission owner. I would add that to the list. Also there are some AFC mods that can be made. Dont add any real top end HP, but allow you to dial in the smoke, and response level you want in the 0-15psi of boost range.

All this in one weekend. WOW. Great truck on Friday, Mustang/Camaro troller on Monday.

Brian

If you really want to hear the turbo ( they give me wood too) than go with a after mkt air filter:D  , I wont even get into the argument of what kind :-{} #@$%! its almost like some of these guys own the company or something:confused: opinions are one thing but my blood psi is not worth blowing a gasket over... . JMO... any how it is JMO but I have the Amsoil foam unit in the stock box, it works for me and thats all that counts... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ..... Kevin
