However, there were only FIVE type fuel systems in 1983 that break down to four basic types

1. Rotary Distributor pump (like Bosche VE - Standadyne, Lucas, Mimmec,etc )
2. Inline Pump (like Bosche P, Catterpiller, Mimmec, etc)
3. Unit Injector (Like Detroit 2 cycle)
4. PT-Pressure Time fuel systems (like 250 -400 Cummins)
In my day 2300 PSI was really putting it to an injector...
Now there are WHAT -- four more... FIVE???
1. Common rail
2. Electronic direct injector
3. HUEI
4. ???

I started thinking about this a few weeks ago, a local college in Richmond was looking for an instructor for a Diesel class. They called me in, out the auto body class. While I do not have the extra time right now, I helped them write the Program of Instruction (POI) and class outline summary, and decide what to teach in the time they wanted (2 classes of 75 hours = 150) a non- certification course. Course, they are still looking for that instructor... Anyone?
