The UPS man dropped off a box from Don M. this afternoon. It's got my new mach 1. 5's in it. I'm not the slickest wrench in the box & I'm a little nervous about opening up a perfectly good running fuel system but I do hope to get to it within a week or so. It sure looks like #6 is going to be a little tricky to get at.

little tricky the first time, easier every time after that. If you have the right tools layed out, after the first time, it'll take about 45 mins to an hour. First time, plan on 2. 5-3 and make sure you do it right.

And make sure that the copper gasket comes out when you pull the injector. If it doesn't then you will need to fish it out of the head.

Note-to-self: make sure that the copper gasket comes out when you pull the injector.

I'll be changing out mine in the next couple of weeks so keep the tips coming guys. :)

Received Mach 2's yesterday

They are a beautiful sight sitting in the box. I was a bit surprised not to receive any flow test verification information or any written guarantee information (defect-free, etc).

Cummins Metropower in Rocky Hill, CT has agreed to install the new injectors for me when they do the 100k (ok, ok 112k) overhead adjust. I think I'll add the Carter 7psi pusher first... .

I received my EDM 2. 0s last Thursday and of course I installed them last Friday. I would like to mention that you can use one of the long intake bolts (from the grid heater) to remove a stuck copper o-ring from the injector hole. I was able to just start the bolt into the washer enough to pull it from the head. Of course, with my luck, this was on #5 cylinder! Enjoying the EDMs. Had to set the jumper on the EZ to #1 to control smoke, but that was my preference. The combination is very smooth. Mike

I wish my EDM 2. 5's had come in last week. I am having the DTT transmission mods done this week-end. I would have liked to have the injectors in first.

My input into this fray?

A 19mm stubby is your friend when doing the injector line nuts. It's compact enough to get back to #6 without pulling the lifting eye. It's also short enough to where you don't have to worry about overtorquing them when you put it all back together.

Loosen the injector hold downs, not the actual line clamps... this is straight out of the DD injector directions that are floating around the TDR... I even think other vendors are shipping DD's directions-- they're that good.

have fun. I hope to have M3s soon... .
