What is the torque increase for 1. 5's

Can I run these with an otherwise bone stock truck (01 HO 6 spd)?

What is a boost fooler and do I need it?

the 1. 5's are rated 85hp and the torque should be 170



stock turbo will be fine and you can find used boost foolers.



A boosy fooler will allow higher boost pressures without setting a check engine light . you would need an adjustable elbow too

The 1. 5's will give you a little greater increase in the 245hp motor than in other versions. There are several differences in the motor. The injectors are actually smaller than the other motors. The extra power is from higher compression, a different model VP44 & EMC progaming. The actual output in your '01 ETH could be more like 100hp. You will definatly set over boost codes without a boost fooler. If you'r not heavy with your right foot you can get by without other modifications but fuel pressure boost & egt guages are a good idea.

I also would HIGHLY suggest gauges to monitor your truck, even stock can get a little hot on EGT. A used boost fooler or EZ (probably easier to find) and boost elbow would be necessary. You will LOVE the change!
