I'd appreciate hearing from anybody who has installed aerotabs on their 5er as to whether or not they actually are a benefit. If they did help with mileage, how much did it improve? Any other info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

I am about to add them myself. My research has shown that there is a slight benefit in mileage, which will show or not depending on your driving style. They will help move the air pocket from the back of the fiver, farther away thus decreasing drag. I am about to mount a motorcycle lift on the back of mine so I have another reason to put them on. They help to keep the back of the rig much cleaner. FWIW, every little bit helps when it comes to MPG. Sarge

I have them on my trailer and I don't know if it really helps on milage but if it is 5% , thats it... ... What it DOES do though is help on stability when going down the road. I noticed the rear of my trailer is cleaner so there is less suction and turbulence back there... .

Eric, do you have the white ones? Do they match your gelcoat paint pretty good?

Looks like you have about 20 on the one side at about $3. 50 that is pretty expensive. . Did you put them on the top?

Anyone have a good place to buy for a good price?

Are they just attached with double stick tape?

I installed them on my 5th when it was brand new so I can't give an impression of how much improvement they provide. They do keep the back of the trailer clean. I also put them on the roof and on the AC's. I purchased a kit which included more than enough to do the trailer with some left over. I have played with the idea of putting them on the top of the pickup cab to see if it will lower the turbulence in the bed when towing the trailer.

They have adhesive on the bottom and a plastic positioner that allows you to install them with the correct spacing three airfoils at a time. Only takes a few minutes to install, perhaps 45 minutes total to clean the surface and install all the airfoils.

The tabs are plain white or clear or black to order... Mine matches pretty good to the gel.

Note they also have some clear ones for places where there is color paint or whatever.

All These are plastic so you can get the plastic paint to try to match it if you want
