Is it safe for motor, transmission on a 2007 5. 9 mega cab auto and do they really help on efficiency and power.

EFIlive gives you the ability to change nearly any ecm parameter. Due to its ability to data-log, a "perfect" tune can be written for your application. The possibilties are unlimited.

2006-7 currently. Yes, it CAN BE safe. It is not a pre tuned downloader like others on the market. Rather it gives you the ability to write your own program, or simply modify your stock one. You can build a very safe mild tune, or high pressure, crazy smokey, too much timing, blow up your junk tune.

Don't buy the product thinking it's as easy as plugging it into your truck and flashing in a new already loaded program.

EFILive is currently available for 06-09 trucks. It can be as easy as any other programmer; load up the tune and go. You don't have to get the full-fledged V2, you can simply contact a tuner, tell them what you want, and they'll send out an Autocal with a tune written specifically for your truck. They may be able to throw a couple tunes on the Autocal as well.

Or you can go the V2 route, and again, a tuner emails you a tune and you load it up.

Or, you can tune it yourself.

EFILive has been well known in the Duramax community, and is now entering the Cummins community. I've heard good things. I don't foresee changing my Smarty, due to the fact that there are so many variables that can be changed, unless one likes to tinker.

It makes me wonder how well a pre programmed tune would compare to a Smarty tune, as far as drivability and dyno results. It should be interesting...

And I STILL don't know why a 3rd Gen can't go into a 3 cylinder idle. 2nd Gen can do it, why can't we???

There is NO deadline for the 03-05 trucks. None. They just released the 07. 5-09 6. 7 software, so I'd expect some time to be devoted to getting that lined out, as well as continuing the 06/07 5. 9. Soon they will do the 10+ trucks, and that may be out by May.

03-05 isn't going to be out by May, guaranteed.

So with EFILIve you could STOP a code from coming up? Could you also run another programer with it?

Nick @ Cumminstuner.com is in your area, he can custom make a tune for your specific truck & combo. I was running the Smarty TNT tunes, now have a custom Efi program. Gained 30hp/80tq, maybe 20% quicker spool, and around 50% less smoke in general every day driving. Overall the truck runs smoother, quieter, and has better drivability on the street tune. It's not a night & day difference, but it's defiantly noticeable. For me the piece of mind knowing that things are programed, and running right & efficiently was worth the money. They data log and can see exactly what your truck is doing. Who knows what those Box tuners are doing to your truck. I have the AutoCal with 3 custom tunes on it.

To the OP, EFI live is not a box tuner and Not for beginners. I highly suggest you have a Pro write you a tune if you wish to go with EFI Live. Many of these EFI tuners can write you a tune remotely from a data log you take of your truck. It can all be doe through downloads and e-mail if you wish.

Hope this helps.

EFI Live is a programmer so no you can't run 2 programmers.

As for codes, it depends on what code and how it was triggered.

Not sure where you get your info bud, but I just talked to them on the phone a couple days ago and they are saying May '12

What they are saying is they HOPE to. However, it's not really an official deadline, since officially, they aren't even working on it until after the 10-12 trucks are done and released.

Like I said, I would be extremely surprised if it was released by May. I've been watching their progress since the very beginning and have seen each "deadline" passed. Not an issue, because when it's released, it works.

Just got my CumminsTuner SPADE Jack from Scott Tuesday. I got the Light Tow, Daily Driver, Sport/Economy, and Stock Trans Race tunes. I have only uploaded the Daily Driver tune and oh man... Night and Day difference coming from an old Edge Juice/Attitude!! Smooth, and much more powerful!
