First off I've had my edge on for 3 years and have been very happy with it. However when my truck hit 80,000 miles I have had nothing but problems with my edge. I've had it sent to edge and they say it tested out fine. The box started throwing 2146 & 2149 codes which are injector related. Yesterday it completely shut down the truck while towing pretty fun with 10,000#'s behind you. It has happened multiple times in the past 6 months even after I sent the unit in. It always comes up with 2146 and 2149. Bottom line I'm tired of having to stop and reset everything when this happens. Yesterday I took the edge off and the continued home with no problems. I like the ability to switch programs on the fly but I'm tired of the unreliablility. So here is my question. Has anyone switched from an edge to the Smarty? If so what kind of feed back can you offer. Also has anyone else had any of these codes being thrown and how did you fix it?

If the Juice module checked out ok, then it is probably a wiring harness issue. Either the Juice wiring harness or the OEM harness. Did you send the harness in to Edge also to be tested??

I went through many boxes and downloaders since my Juice/Attitude days. I do currently run the Smarty with EZ and TST stacked. I have been running lately with the TST off and the EZ on level 1, so mainly Smarty.

I don't think you would be disappointed if you switched to a Smarty. Not so easy to change levels, but takes the hardware and wiring harnesses out of the picture.

The last time I sent in the unit I sent everything in including the monitor. The only time the edge will start acting up is while the engine is under a pretty good load for an extended period of time. For example when I'm pulling a grade and then all of a sudden the engine will start missing and firing only on 3 or 4 cylinders and then I've got to pull over and it will throw the 2146 and 2149 code. The edge box will also be really hot. All the temps on the truck will be fine EGT's (900) and engine temp (200) so the box is the problem. I know this because like I said once I remove the box and go to stock the truck runs perfect. The customer service at Edge is really good so I'm going to give them a call and see if I can still use the monitor for my gauges only. I don't want to have to change out the Pillar and get new gauges. So I'll see what they say.

I was getting a missfire on #4 and the 2149 code, not with an edge but my quadzilla. Turns out I had an injector going bad. The fuelling box made it worse, imagine that! I removed all of my mods, had no problems for two weeks then the injector finally failed, same codes, rough running, replacement cured it.

You might have one or more injectors going bad, extra pressure, timing and duration likely makes the situation worse.

I just threw the 2149, 0514, 0113 codes last night with the chip set on "0" stock. Removed all edge stuff, runs fine. This has happened to me before and I sent it to Edge and they flashed it or updated it or something and have been good until now. This time it was a lot worse, the truck would barely run at all. Last time it just lost a little power and still drove to a rest area with a 10k lb gooseneck. I'm not sure if it is a edge glitch or what, you'd think that with them updating it, that it wouldn't be a harness problem.
