While cleaning my intake and EGR I noticed lots of wet soot in the intake while very little soot around turbo and EGR. I can understand in intake but why not in and around EGR cooler?

That's a hard one. Never heard of condensation in the intake. is it dry in the intercooler outlet (upstream air) and just moist after the egt valve? no moisture in air tube ahead of egr valve junction?

The crossover tube and all the way to the turbo was dry. When I pulled the valve off the top of the intake horn where the two holes are the soot was moist.

I wonder if it could be condensation. Is it cold and wet where you are. Maybe a master mechanic will know, but that's my WAG at it.

don't have 6.7 egr experience but i do work on isc and isl and we have had a lot of egr's leaking coolant into the intake
