I finaly took the weekend and did the EGR brake upgrade which has been in my living room for 2 months.

But I had some problems. After many hours I finaly got it all done but after 3 pints of fluid there are still bubbles comming out of the right rear side. All the other tires seem clear. (I finaly moved on to see what the rest of the system was doing. ) Can bubles come from the bleed screw? I would not think so but I have run a lot of fluid though the system using the pressure bleading tank and I don't know where this air could be comming from.

Also the shop manual says that I will need a DRB III? to bleed the ABS system. Will I be able to get away with just bleeding the individual cylendars?

Furthermore the shop manual says to hold the front brake metering valve open. Where the f@#$ is this? The only other reference I find is a description of how it works, big deal tell me where it is and how to hold it open...

Ok enough ranting 24 hours of brake work is getting to me.

Thanks again,

Ira

PS yes I did do the rotors, no I don't think I will every try to pull those hubs again. Of course there is plenty of anti-seize in there now... ;)

bump to the top

No ideas here?

I just talked to a guy who has used the power bleeders before and says they will sometimes inject air into the system. Anyone have this experience. Maybe I am not using it correctly.

Thanks,

Ira
