As was stated before on the DODGE Cummins Forum there is a very lengthly thread on how to unplug the EGR valve and what happens. One gentleman has documented the entire process from unplugging to blocking the EGR and what the truck will do and will not do. He has basically stated: just unplug the EGR and gain 2 MPG plus a little soot in the engine. This is the best solution unless you want to spend $2500 dollars or more. Cost of all the deletes plus a programmer. As far as the codes are concerned I would buy a low cost code reader and clear the codes every day, such as Innova 3100 from Amazon .com.
