Cummins 2.8l TurboDiesel Crate Engine

Fuel Pump

This is on a diesel car, but something that probably affect all diesels. I had a tune done, and they also did a software EGR delete only. But I have been thinking of blocking off the inlet that goes into the EGR, as to my thinking those gasses are still going into the EGR.

So I decided to monitor and check the EGR when starting and driving. I found the EGR Duty stays at 0% because it has been deleted, but now I saw the EGR Cooler Bypass is still working. I am not quite sure of the pupose, but I am thinking that since the EGR valve does not open, the bypass does, thus still letting gasses into the engin when cold.

I am, attaching screenshots from cold start Pic 1 to warmed up pic 4. Pic 1 shows the bypass at 96% and when warm Pic 4 at 5%. So my question is, it is still passing gasses into the engin? I should blank it off? When the valve is "closed" should it show 0%?

What you are asking is against Federal LAW! Deletes of any diesel can cause great backlash for the site. These threads are being searched for and can bring issues for not only the site but for the poster! We don't like these discussions being brought up and ask that you would refrain from posting such. Thanks.

Cant get issue to myself as we are not under fedral law or any kind regulating it. So then if it is such an issue, delete the post, ok.

@Gotcha, The problem is that this site is based in the US and would cause issues here! You'll need to find a site that isn't covered by regulations or someone that can communicate directly with you. Didn't mean to come across so sternly, but with all the regs we have to deal with, don't won't to see the site take the heat! I see you're in South Africa, good luck with finding what you need.

No problem and I do understand. Thanks for letting me know.
