2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission EGR Delete Kit

Has anyone installed one of these if so what brand and cost what is the benifet of this mod if any? Thanks

You are in the wrong section. The 2nd Gens don't have EGR.

Wrong Jeff, Cali models of 97 &98 12V did.



I deleted mine on my '98 but don't think it had much performance affect. I did it because the pressure from the exhaust brake opened the EGR and bled off the brake pressure, lessening its stopping power.



Firefighter, you need to post what truck you have for any of us to make a valid guess.

the real benifit is for the health of the engine egrs are nasty. if you look at your grid heater i bet its coated in soot. get rid of it. i dont think there is a kit. you can replace the intake and exhaust manifolds with normal ones or just get rid of the tube and cap both.
