Anybody do the EGR front disk conversion for our trucks?I just got my hubs ready to go and the center hole in the new disk is just to small. I tried calling them but no call back yet! It also seems that the calipers are to small. I don't know if I was sent wrong parts or what. I was wondering someone else has had same problem?
I think the EGR Brakes are great, I choose to go with them for my truck. I used there pads, shoes, brake fluid, hoses, hardware kit, and rear wheel cylinders. I got my own Rotors (Raybestos super stop Extreme Duty) and Calipers (Raybestos re-built), The Raybestos brand rotors are just great, beefy internally cooled, cross drilled and gas slotted, I think they are one of the best offered for the Dodge truck.
The brakes were good before the up-grade, and were in fact working just fine, I just wanted something better. That is what I got, I wanted better, but got Great. There is no way to explain the difference, it's night and day, Ford and Dodge, I was surprised at how much better they got. Just take your time and do the job right. This is a great time to flush the system and install new fluid. Also don't forget to go with speed bleeders and new hardware kits.
I don't see on EGR's website where they offer a front disc brake for a pre 94? Whats wrong with the OEM front caliper system on your 93?
I have the rear disc system and am very pleased with it but I did have some problems with missing parts and getting the wrong rotors.
If anyone is considering the EGR rear disc system w/E-brake be warned the "universal" e-brake mount requires extensive modification to work with the factory cables and there is no documatation to help you. The pictures they provide are not even for a first gen application. I eneded up making my own adapters. GIVE YOURSELF PLENTY OF TIME AND PLAN AHEAD!
