Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) EGR Tube and check engine light

I have a 98 12 valve which was a California truck, after breaking two EGR tubes I removed the EGR Tube and blocked of the Manifold. The check engine light comes on about 90% of the time, any ideas on how to shut this light off? The truck is registered in Nevada where the EGR tube is not required.

remove the bulb or find the feed wire from the pcm and put a switch in it so you can still read codes.

Do a search, there is a lot of info on this here, just block off the vacuume line, worked for me... . unless you're the lawman and then I KNOW NOTHING
