Just wanted to post my two cents on the egr unplug thing. Just got back from a round trip to cleveland ,Ohio from okc. With the egr unplugged I got 19. 88 mpg average on checking four tanks. That is hand calc . Never got more than 17. 4 ever before. Also to my surprise my egt's were down 300 degrees. I have towed my 5ver since I unplugged and egt' were still down 330 degrees. have not pulle far enough to see if the mpg is up while towing. Lie-ometer shows more mpgs towing but I need to run a tank at least to see if there is a real change with the trailer on. Seems like alot for doing so little.

I'm curious RSamples - did you get any check engine light??? I'm wanting a new 3500 DRW, but dragging my feet - the '00 is still running fine getting great mileage! When I get a new truck I want to plug the EGR and remove the DPF... . !

Yes the check light stays on . But when I plugged it back in , it went away with 5 starts. Unplugged it again. Oil is not as dirty , still think it is a cheap mod.

I read all the horror stories about the 6. 7 and knew from the start, I did not want one. Time changes many things.

My recently acquired '09 has more power than I expected and my fuel mileage is at least the same as my '06 6 speed, if not a bit better.

Last week on a canned 600 mile run I make 40 or 50 times a year, I got 13. 2 loaded and 20. 49 mty... ... ... ..... hand calculated.

Was I blessed with one of the good ones? Oo.

I get 20mpg on the highway and about 17. 5 in town, hand calc'd.

DPF is missing and EGR doesn't work, Smarty takes care of the lights.

6. 7 motors are good , Just got to get all of the crap off of them. I could not be happier with my truck, just wish the EPA would quit using kalifori as a guide for things.
