I recently came up on my 67,500 mi service. Just prior to that I popped some DTC's related to the O2 sensor. I replaced the rear O2 sensor (Bosch replacement I bought at an auto parts store) but it did not clear the codes. I brought the truck into the dealer to have them clean the egr cooler and valve (covered under warranty in NYS) and check the codes. They told me the egr valve was sticking and needed to be replaced, which I had them do. They also did the wire harness overlay TSB, which was the code issue. I have the truck back, codes are gone and it runs fine, except for 2 issues; my MPG's are down about 1+ and I noticed when I accelerate to pass I don't get the throttle response I used to, like the truck is not dropping down to the appropriate gear range. My 2 questions are:
1. Will an aftermarket O2 sensor effect MPG? I am thinking about putting the old O2 sensor back in to see if this does anything.
2. Any ideas on what would cause my loss in power on acceleration? Is it a sign I am starting to have turbo issues? I do not use my turbo brake all the time (until recently) but I do use it regularly.
Truck is stock. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
Kevin
