I feel kind of stupid asking these questions. but The dirrections that came with my gages are at best real sketcky and I don't want to screw up my truck. I just bought an ISSPRO EGT gage and the instructions lead me to believe that if the exhaust manifold is not drilled and tapped for the thermocouple, It should be installed in the exhaust pipe within 6" of the manifold end. I however would like to install it in the manifold before the turbo. Can I do this and if so where do I drill and tap for the thermocouple? Next question is how do I hook up the boost gage, to what?? I am OK with the electrical part of both gages, hot lead to the dash dimmer switch and the other to ground. Appreciate any help with this as this is my first dodge diesel and I hope to do the DR. Performance thing later this spring, after the gages and baseline is established. My rig is a 2001 DEE/ETH (high output and six speed) 4X4, 3500 and presently is stock except for some minor dress up stuff. I am a machinist by trade so drillind and tapping is not a problem, just where.

I'm gonna answer this, BUTT, wait for other answers as there are various methods. The EGT would be tapped before the turbo on either side of the web (I tapped both sides and dont notice too much diff when I swapped holes). The boost can be tapped under the dip stick and then strapped to the dip stick. I used a short piece of the nylon line on each end then went to windshield washer tube for the in-between due to leaks.

If you do a search for the installs, you will get more then enuff opinions and we all know what the opinion is worth.

SO, u now have mine. . others to follow.

SOTSU!!

edit: just realized this is in the wrong form and will probably get moved to products.
