I would like to put a EGT/Boost gauge in my motorhome. The only problem is that the engine is about 35' away from the dash and I don't think the thermocouple wire or boost tubing comes in lengths that long ;) . I'm wondering if my only options are something like a BD engine monitor or some other gauges that are meant to "go the distance". Thanks in advance.

Just make your own thermocouple lead. Use the short lead that comes with the EGT. Then pick up a 50' spool of thermocouple wire and extend it. Do not use what is called extension wire. Use thermocouple wire. Solder the connections. You should be ready to go.

Do a google search on thermocouple and it will give a wealth of info and places to get the wire. If the EGT wire leads are red and yellow it is a K type thermocouple.

dont soder the ends and extension grade wire is fine use thermocouple connectors or weld the wires togther cause when soder is used it puts dissimler metels togther and will throw off the temp reading. your other option woould be to mount the sending unit in the back and extend the wires from the box to the gauge with regular wire as far as boost goesyou should be able to get a long tube or lookinto the possiblity of a electronic gauge.
