EGT gauge, Where to drill the manifold?

First of all, pay no attention to my signature, this truck was stolen Friday morning in Kansas City. Getting ready to order an 03 next week, if it isn't recovered. (2500 Laramie, HO/48RE) Been looking at a few, and can't see any obvious location to drill & tap for the EGT pyro. After I get that figured out, I'll have to look hard to find a place in the cab that makes sence, for the gauge. Any ideas? Have been using a Westech combo boost/EGT from Geno's, and would like to use that again if I could, but where to mount?

I have mine drilled and tapped about 3" from the turbo inlet flange closer to the 3 front cylinders on the manifold. Do it pre- turbo for correct temperature monitoring. Use a vacumn cleaner when drilling and tapping then complete the clean-up with a magnet. Good luck

Dennis you stated that your truck had been stolen and you were gonna order its replacement next week if its not recovered. DON'T WAIT, ORDER NOW!!!!! I have heard in more places then one that orders for 03's will be cut off on 4/22/03. See if you can order its replacement now and just have the dealer put it into their inventory if your original truck is recovered. Hope this saves you from a lot of frustration since I also understand that DC won't accept order for 04 until 7/03.

very good idea, thanks for the heads up, I hadn't heard that yet. I wouldn't mind an 04, but need it ASAP, and will have to order it like I want.
