egt guage goes south

today my post turbo autometer egt guage went haywire . its reading an irratic 1400+ degrees! when i shut the truck off it dosn't reset itself. the guage is only 3 months old. has anyone ever had the same problem? i have a pre turbo guage and it is working normally. some insight would be great... . james

Swap the thermocouples to see if the problem follows the thermocouple or stays with the gauge.
