hey i have a new autometer egt gauge in a project of mine. . i used it for 3 days and then thought i had a blown headgasket. . well it ended up being a cracked head. . any how. . the pryrometer was mounted in th eexhaust manifold pre turbo and when i removed it from manifold to take the head off it looked fine. . reinstalled it after head swap and now it wont work. . ??. . sucks $115 buck. . any ideas on this any one else have any problems with theirs?... i heard sometime here that this has happened before . . but this was a while ago in a older post. . anyhow now i need a egt . . do i get a new one?. . get another brand or type that is able to be removed and installed. . or is there a easy fix for this?...
any info would be apprecaited

Put a digital volt meter on the leads and see if you are getting voltage out of the thermocouple. That will narrow down the trouble. Seems like I got <1VDC at idle. The leads are hooked up correctly, right? I ask this because when I reinstalled mine, I made the *** -uption that red was positive on the gauge.

i didn't unhook th eleads. . there are off set too on autometer to avoid that problemm. . all i did was un thread the thermacouple union and pull out thermacouple mfrom manifold i need to check the voltage.
thanks deo
